What are all these MSN names?
MSN is Microsoft's network of internet services.
MSNTV is what was formerly WebTv.
MSNIA is an ISP for dial-up access to the internet.
MSN Explorer is MSN's proprietary browser.
MSN9.5 is a software package that integrates MSN services such as the browser, Hotmail, and Messenger.
MSN One Plan

What is the MSN One Plan?
It's simply an offer that combines unlimited dial-up access to the internet from both a computer and MSNTV for one price.

I have MSNTV2. Does that qualify for the One Plan?
No. However, you can choose to use your own ISP (MSN or other) on the MSNTV2 unit, and thus receive a $10 a month discount on your MSNTV2 bill.

Can I sign up for the One Plan if I'm using a Mac?
Absolutely.

Can I get on the One Plan but use a broadband connection from another ISP on the computer?
Absolutely.

Does MSNIA offer a broadband connection?
No. MSNIA only offers dial-up access.

MSN9.5

Do I have to use MSN9.5 with MSNIA?
No. It's entirely optional.

Can I use MSN9.5 on my Mac?
No.

Can I use MSN9.5 with Vista?
Yes. It's reported that MSN9.5 is compatible with Vista, though earlier versions (MSN9, MSN8...) are not.

How are Windows Live ID, Microsoft Passport, and my MSN UserName & Password related?
Anyone can create a free Microsoft .Net Passport, now known as Windows Live ID. It's a system that uses one ID to sign in to any MSN, Windows Live, or Passport site. When you become a paying subscriber to MSNIA, you will get a MSN UserName and password. That Username & pw is also a Passport/WinLiveID. So anywhere you see the sign-in logo for Passport/WinLiveID, you can sign-in with your MSN UserName & pw.
(Note: People with a Passport/WinLiveID but who are not MSN subscribers can't access the MSN Member Center.)
